KeraStraight Hair Smoothing FAQs

The results are the same but the process and chemicals are different. Unlike many other Brazilian Blow Dry treatments or Long-Lasting Blow Drys our treatment does not use formaldehyde, a chemical that has been a cause for concern for some time. This is what KeraStraight say about their revolutionary straightening treatment; ‘The KeraStraight straightening treatment uses a low-PH protein amino acid which produces a similar result, but using different science. We don’t think the aldehyde-based method will be in existence in a few years, because the world’s turning against it.’
If you lighten your hair it is best to do this 2 days before the treatment and if you add colour we advise you do this 2 days after the treatment.
Once the service is complete, the hair can be shampooed after just 30 minutes. It's important to ensure the hair is rinsed thoroughly for 3 - 5 minutes before the firs shampoo after the treatment. We recommend using only Kerastraight Moisture Enhance Shampoos and Conditioners. These home care products are free from Sodium Chloride and Sulphates, which can strip the proteins from your hair.
KeraStraight does not contain any harmful formaldehyde or it's derivatives, but if you are pregnant or nursing and have any concerns, we would recommend consulting your GP before having this treatment.
